BlueSSIS
tackles a number of limitations and inconsistencies of SQL Server Integration
Services, making it easier to use and applicable to a much wider range of
scenarios.
Here's how a few recent clients have used BlueSSIS effectively :
(1) Simple Integration Scenario
One of our clients had a requirement to keep two separate database in synch,
using a trigger table containing an Xml representation of changed records.
They had implemented this in SQL Server Integration Services without BlueSSIS,
but found the process unmanageable - an essentially simple process was
complicated by a lack of integrated Xml handling, manual implementation of
upsert logic, data flow update issues, OLEDB and ADO.Net inconsistencies,
error-prone command handling and the need to revert to VSTA for the simplest of
tasks, incrementing an integer for example. The BlueSSIS suite solved all
of these issues, and they were able to reduce the complexity of their packages
by at least 50%. They then evolved their solution further to use BlueSSIS
to automatically synchronize the two databases on a batch basis without the
requirement for a trigger table at all.
(2) Microsoft CRM Integration
A recent client was faced with having to synchronize Microsoft CRM with a
bespoke contact management application built upon Oracle, and evaluated a number
of solutions. In the end they chose a solution based on BlueSSIS largely
because of the great usability and flexibility of the SQL Server Integration
Services design surfaces, coupled with the power of the BlueSSIS Microosft CRM
and Differencing components. Hooked together and configured in minutes,
these two components allowed our client to generate a daily list of inserted,
deleted and edited contacts, and then appropriately route these to graphically
designed queries to update the underlying Oracle system.
(3) Messaging
Many of our customers use BlueSSIS as a messaging hub, leveraging SQL Server
Integration Services as a workflow framework. For example one of our
clients receives
AS2 or web service messages relating to purchase orders, invoices and dispatch
notices into SQL Server Integration Services via BlueSSIS components, and then
parses, transforms and routes these notices around various internal systems -
updating the order processing and accounts systems for example, and emailing out
confirmations and reports. BlueSSIS provides comprehensive transport and
format support, including full support for EDI, HL/7, CSV, delimited and
positional text and Xml formats, across AS2, secure FTP, MLLP, HTTP, web
service, email or file system transports.
BlueSSIS could potentially be used to solve a huge range of problems
relating to data interactions. If you'd like to receive more detailed case
study information, or want to discuss the applicability of BlueSSIS to a
